    Plans by President Anwar Sadat, of Egypt, to coordinate Arab strategy against Israel took another step forward on Saturday (1 September) with the arrival in Cairo of Sheikh Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, of Kuwait.

    The Sheikh is on a three-day State visit and during that time President Sadat is expected to outline the latest developments in the Middle East situation... including his plan to rally the Arab ranks and mobilise all their resources against Israel. He believed all resources could be used as a lever to pressure the United States out of its support for Israel.

    President Sadat returned to Cairo Last week from Secret visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Syria, where he had talks on the same subject.

    The president was ??? expected to brief Sheikh Sabah on resent moves to improve relations between Egypt and Jordan. There are indications that diplomatic relations between the two countries could be restored in the near future.

    SYNOPSIS: Sheikh Sabah, of Kuwait, arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a three-day State visit.

    President Anwar Sadat, of Egypt, was expected to brief the Sheikh on the latest developments in the Middle East with special reference to plans for ??? Arab strategy against Israel. The President recently had secret talks with other Arab leaders on the same topic.

    President Sadat believes the Arab States should mobilise all their resources - including oil - to pressure the United States out of its support for Israel. Kuwait sources have been quoted as saying it is time for further coordination to face Israel's challenges.

    The talks between the two Arab leaders probably will also cover the improvement of relations between Egypt and Jordan. President Sadat severed links with Jordan. President Sadat severed links with Jordan last year when King Hussein proposed a Federal kingdom, comprising the two banks of the River Jordan.

    There are indications, however, that the two countries will resume diplomatic relations in the near future.

    Observers also felt the two leaders would discuss the conference of non-aligned nations, which opened in Algiers on Sunday night. The main aim there was expected to he a coordination of Arab policies at the conference.
