    India and Yemen have signed a cultural agreement between the two countries.

    The new agreement was signed at the end of talks between the two countries in the Indian capital, New Delhi. The signing ceremony was held in New Delhi on Monday (15 November).

    The agreement which covers the period up to 1978, was signed by Mr. B. N. Tandon on behalf of India and by Mr. Yassin Nasser on behalf of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen.

    In its details, the agreement envisages a wide ranging exchange programme covering the fields of education, art, culture, television and radio.

    Under the agreement India has also offered scholarships for Yemeni students to study in India.
