  • Description

Doctor William Joseph, the chairman of the Lebanese Parliament's economic committee had talks on Sunday (3 August)with Colonel Robert Kotai, the Commissioner for Works and Housing, on economic co-operation between their two countries.

For Doctor Joseph it was the start of a two week visit to Ghana during which he will have further discussions with the Ghanaian Government on a wide range of issues.

That Ghana is operating a tough price control policy is indicative of how seriously the rise in the price of all has affected the country's economy. Even before the oil crises, prices were calculated to be rising at and annual rate of twelve per cent.

Ghana, faced with serious inflation, is turning to others for advantageous trade agreements. The nation needs foreign investment to help stabilise and strengthen the economy.
