Background: While global preparations for British Premier MacMillan's visit to Russia are given last minute checks in readiness for take-off time, 8 a.m. Feb 21, Visnews cameraman filmed the scenes among which the British leader will stay for ten days.
This is the route along which visitors drive from Moscow Airport to the British Embassy. From the Embassy, across the Moscow River, there's a wonderful view of the multicupola Kremlin, seat of USSR Government. Sightseers enjoy much of Moscow's historical architecture - here the Soviet Praesidium building, Uspensky Cathedral, Red Square, Lenin-Stalin Mausoleum, Gorky Street and GUM - Moscow's largest departmental stores.
The Premier's BOAC Comet jet airliner will be the first of its kind to land in Moscow. If weather conditions are poor, Capt. Alabaster, crew leader, has been briefed to turn Southwards to Minsk. If Minsk is closed the Comet will return westward to Stockholm.
The Premier's party is well prepared for the Russian Winter. A leading London outfitters has supplied fur-lined fur coats, traditional Russian fur hats and furboots.
