TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 1: GEMAYEL: "Now, for the south, to put all the Palestinians in the South is exactly like someone who would bring, you known, an animal to his fields full of fruits and something like that. It's exactly like this. You are giving an invitation to the Israeli army to come and attack this part of Lebanon, and I guess that we have suffered enough and now the Palestinians should look to another place to start doing what they must do in order to come back to their homeland. But not from the South because now if they are going to stay here, another problem will start again in the South. And this time we will lose this part of Lebanon and we are not willing to lose any area, any single part of our territory in order to please someone else.
REPORTER: "Sheikh Bashir, if the Lebanese government attempts a Lebanese solution to the situation in the South will you cooperate with this plan by withdrawing the Lebanese quarters from there?"
GEMAYEL: "Your question seems to me incomprehensive, because in case you are in your house, and I am stranger, I am foreigner in your house and I am badgering you in your house, and you want to find a settlement with me, you will agree to leave your house, just to be in accordance with me. What do you mean by asking if the Lebanese forces would agree to withdraw from the South. They are all people from the south, they are people from (indistinct), from (indistinct). It's their houses, their homes, they want them to leave their houses to please the Palestinians or to please the Lebanese solution. It's their house they are protecting and they are defending their houses and they can not go any place else."
