    HE ADDED THAT HIS GOVERNMENT WOULD CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE PATH TRACED BY PRESIDENT HO. EARLIER IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT TODAY'S SCHEDULE SESSION OF THE PEACE TALKS WOOD BE POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT THURSDAY BECAUSE OF THE LEADER'S DEATH.

    A PERSONAL FRIEND OF PRESIDENT HO, MR THUY LEFT PARIS TODAY (4 SEPT) TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL IN HANOI. MADAME NGUYEN THI BINH, LEADER OF THE VIET CONG DELEGATION TO THE TALKS, ALSO LEFT PARIS FOR NORTH VIETNAM.

    THE VIET CONG DELEGATION ISSUED A STATEMENT SAYING THAT THE WHOLE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE WAS DEEPLY AFFLICTED BY THE PRESIDENT'S DEATH.

    MEANWHILE IN NORTH VIETNAM, A THREE-DAY CEASE FIRE WAS ORDERED FOR COMMUNIST GUERILLA FORCES IN SOUTH VIETNAM.

    XUAN THUY'S STATEMENT WAS MADE AT LE BOURGET AIRPORT AS HE AND MADAME BINH WERE SEEN OFF BY THE AMBASSADOR TO PARIS OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE NORTH VIETNAMESE AMBASSADOR MAI VAN BO.
