  • Description

Hundreds of Dutch Jews demonstrated outside Parliament in The Hague on Tuesday (29 February) as the Lower Chamber began its debate on a Government plan to release the last three Nazi war criminals still jailed in the Netherlands.

The demonstrators carried banners proclaiming the number of Dutch Jews exterminated in Nazi concentration camps during World War Two, and waved the Dutch flag at half-mast.

The Lower House debate began with speeches from Communists and Socialists who claimed "highly placed German circles" were anxious to get the three Nazi war criminals released.
