Background: The Ghanaian Prime Minister, Dr Busia has called for unity and brotherly love among Ghanaian Moslems so that they may contribute towards the country's development. He was addressing over ten thousand Moslems who attended a special prayer meeting marking the re-opening of the Central Mosque in Kumasi on Friday, July 17.
The Prime Minister was welcomed on arrival in Kumasi by the Ashanti Regional Chief Executive, Mr Annam, high ranking officials of the Progress Party, including the Regional Chairman, Mr Osei Bonsu, the Regional Secretary, Mr Sam Boateng and Moslem leaders in Kumasi. With the Prime Minister were the Minister of External Affairs, Mr Victor Owusu, the Minister of Lands and Mineral Resources, Mr Amponsah and the Minister of the Interior, Mr S. D. Dombo.
