Background: Unlike the King's new suit, in the Hans Anderson fable, there's nothing invisible or insubstantial in the Emperor's New Car. Indeed, Hirohito's loyal subject are filled with genuine and admiration for the Rolls Royce as it stands in a Tokyo showroom before its delivery to the Japanese Emperor.

The new Rolls will read on the 'old' Daimler and Cadillac which were bought in 1950 and 1953 respectively. The latest limousine will be used chiefly for transporting foreign visitors to the Palace.
