    MARKET WOMEN IN ACCRA, GHANA HAVE MADE A DONATION OF 2,200 NEW CEDIS TO THE KOTOKA FUND. THE DONATIONS WERE MADE ON THURSDAY (25 MAY 1967) AT A SPECIAL FUND-RAISING CEREMONY ORGANISED JOINTLY BY THE MAKOLA MARKET WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE KOTOKA TRUST FUND.

    THE MARKET WOMEN WORE MOURNING CLOTHES. AMONG THE EARLY DONORS WERE AKWELEY SIAW AND GRACE AMONAKWA, THE PRESIDENT OF THE MAKOLA MARKET WOMEN.

    AS PART OF THE CEREMONY THE WOMEN MOURNED THE DEATH OF LIEUTENANT-GENERAL KOTOKA KILLED IN THE ARMY INSURRECTION LAST MONTH.

    MR JUSTICE NII AMAA OLLENU, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE KOTOKA FUND, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BOARD WERE PRESENT AT THE CEREMONY. A NEW CEDI IS WORTH 10 SHILLINGS STERLING.
