    Background: Dr. Kissinger will visit South Africa after Zambia and will hold discussions with the country's Prime Minister John Vorster. The two men met recently in Switzerland. Dr. Kissinger may also meet the Rhodesian Prime Minister, Ian Smith, while he is in south Africa.
    The United States Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger said on Wednesday (5 September) that his country had no intention of intervening in Southern Africa. He was speaking in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es-Salaam, shortly before flying to Zambia to continue his African shuttle mission.
    SYNOPSIS: During his stay in Tanzania, Dr. Kissinger had talks with President Julius Nyerere on the situation in southern Africa.
    Dr. Kissinger then flew to the Zambian capital, Lusaka, where he was met by Siteke Mwale, Zambia's Foreign Minister. Lusaka was the second leg of the Secretary of State's mission to meet black and white leaders and discuss the southern African situation.
