    Background: In Oslo, yesterday, (December 10), Canadian Foreign Minister Mr. Lester Pearson received the Nobel Peace Prize for 1957 for his actions is helping to resolve the Suez crisis which arose around the end of 1956.

    The presentation was made at Oslo University in the presence of King Olav of Norway and Princess Astrid.

    The Prize was handed to Mr Pearson by Gunnar Jahn, chairman of the committee appointed by the Norwegian Parliament on behalf of the Nobel Foundation.

    The prize is worth GBP15,000 and with it goes an illuminated diploma and a gold medal.
