    After talks with President Nasser in Cairo today (September 15) the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew, said the Middle East conflict could be ended if arms supplies to the area were halted.

    Mr. Lee, who was ending a three-day visit to Cairo, said of the conflict: "It's like the war between India and Pakistan. The stopped fighting because they ran out of weapons. It is up to the people who have this weapon technology to end the conflict."
    He added that he thought there was a genuine desire in Cairo for a just and peaceful settlement of an unhappy situation which was costly for everyone and held great dangers for the rest of the world.

    Of the recent Lusaka conference of non-aligned nations, which he attended, he felt the summit should be followed byu the creation of a Secretariat to push matters forward.

    The Prime Minister left later today for Moscow, after which he will visit West Germany, France, Britain and the United States.
