CLAY: "I take a fall like that so all the critics and people who hope that one day they'll seem me down. I'm just giving them a little ida how it'all look. If i ever do, no-one will ever see it"



REPORTER: "What were you attempting to do in your sparring?"



CLAY: "Just in fight. I'm not going to be doing much moving in this fight."



This fight might be 70 percent just flat-footed, just waiting for him. He's not fast at all. I get on my bicycle when I'm meeting a good fast man. How in nine? Because it'll take 3 or 4 rounds to just feel him out. About a round, two rounds to feel him out. And then tag 3rd or 4th round -- shake him up a little. Fifth round, just stick in and move. Sixth round -- tag him, make sure he's still shook up. Seventh round - talk to him. I've got a few things to tell him while I'm whipping him and talking to him . Eight round, tag him again. Background: Muhammad Ali, the former World Heavyweight boxing champion also known as Cassius Clay, made a rhyming prediction after a workout in New York on Monday (30 November) that he would beat the Argentine boxer Oscar Bonavena in nine rounds.

Ali is due to fight Bonavena at Madison Square Gardens on Monday (December 7). During the workout Ali staged a mock knockdown while sparring with partner Bunny Akins. Afterwards, he described how he thought the coming fight would develop and made his prediction:
