    Uruguayan industrialist Ricardo Ferres Terra returned to his family at home in Montevideo on Friday (28 January) after being set free before dawn by Tupamaro urban guerrillas.

    Mr Rerres, aged 52 and Chairman of a rice-processing mill, had been held prisoner for more than nine months. He was kidnapped on April 13 last year, three months after the guerrillas abducted British ambassador Sir Geoffrey Jackson.
