Background: The Africans Games in Algiers...and int he swimming events the women's one hundred metres Butterfly event has been won by Zaza Affane of Algeria.
SYNOPSIS: The race was run on Tuesday (18 July).
Affane was in lane four, and led at the turn.
She was followed closely by the Tunisian star Myriam Mizouni. Thee was no doubt who the spectators were cheering.
It was quite a reversal. Affane had finished second to Mizouni twice during the Games. She also reduced Mizouni's African Games record to one minute, ten point one eight seconds.
Hopes for another Algerian gold to match Affane's however were dashed by the Tunisians who won the day's remaining four races.
