  • Description

A group of negro students from the all-negro Texas Southern University still continue their lunch time sit-in protest at the lunch counter segregation.

A integration suit is pending before Federal Judge Ben Connally but he has given no indication when he will give a decision.

The peaceful sit-down demonstrations started in Greensboro North Carolina, and have since spread through eight southern States. The students from Texas Southern University, here seen in the luncheon counter, left peacefully when the management announced the store would be closed 'indefinitely'.

Twenty two negro students from Bluefield State College picketed the entrances to the Colonial Theatre in protest at segregation of a movie audience - eleven negroes were arrested for invading the white section of the public library in Petersburg Virginia, charged with trespassing, and released on $1,000 bail.
