IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING RIOTING STUDENTS SET FIRE TO SEVERAL CARS ON THE LEFT BANK OF PARIS AFTER POLICE HAD HURLED TEAR GAS BOMBS AT THEM. THE STUDENTS AND POLICE FOUGHT WITH STONES AND WATER CANNON.

    THIS MORNING' TROUBLE WAS THE FIRST SINCE THE ??? STREET RIOTS EARLY THIS MONTH IN WHICH HUNDREDS WERE INJURED. TODAY THE STUDENTS REPEATED THEIR EARLIER TACTICS, AND BEGAN THEIR DEMONSTRATION WITH A MARCH THROUGH THE LEFT BANK AREA.

    THE POLICE RINGED MOST OF THE LATIN QUARTER, CHECKING THE IDENTITIES OF THOSE COMING IN OR OUT.

    BELGIAN STUDENTS EXPRESSED SOLIDARITY WITH THE PARISIANS TODAY BY OCCUPYING BRUSSELS UNIVERSITY. GERMAN STUDENTS THREATENED TO MARCH ACROSS THE GERMAN BORDER, WITH BANNED LEADER DANIEL COHN-BENDIT AT THE HEAD.
