    Background: British 53-year-old theatre knight Sir Laurence Olivier - seen May 23 leaving London's Royal Court Theatre where he is starring in Ionesco's "Rhinoceros" - has so far not commented to newsmen on the reported break-up of his marriage to famous actress Vivien Leigh.

    Starring with him in "Rhinoceros" is Miss Joan Plowright, 31, whom Sir Laurence wants to marry, according to a statement issued by Miss Leigh in New York, where she is currently appearing on Broadway in "Duel of Angels". Her statement said she would do as her husband wishes. The couple were married 19 years ago - both had been married and divorced once before - and their partnership became a noted theatre-land romance. Miss Plowright, up-and-coming star of London's intellectual-type theatre world, is married to actor Roger Gage.
