    Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir flew to the United States on Wednesday (October 31) to discuss peace in the Middle East with President Nixon and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

    On the same day Egypt's President Anwar Sadat repeated his co??? readiness for a peace conference on condition Israeli forces wi??? to lines held on October 22. President Sadat's Special Envoy, A??? Foreign Minister Ismail Fahmy was still in Washington on Wednesday, so there could be a more general peace discussion.

    Urgent problems exist before negotiations can be started. Mrs. Meir is bound to insist Egypt and Syria release Israeli prisoners-of-war. Israel says the United States and Soviet Union agreed this as a basis for the United Nations Security Council cease-fire resolution.

    Observers think Mrs. Meir may back up this demand by mentioning the urgency with which the Soviet Union and apparently Egypt arranged for supplies to reach the Egyptian third army. The Israelis say the army is surrounded on the east bank of the canal. Egypt claim the third army is part of a circle around Israeli troops on the west bank of Suez.
