Background: South Vietnamese force pushed deeper into Laos today while mist, mud and mortar shells brought the huge American supply operation behind them to a halt. No significant actions have been reported, but the North Vietnamese have shelled at least two South Vietnamese units in Laos and struck outposts at seven points in the border areas from which U.S. forces are providing extensive air and logistic support.
Newsmen have been stopped from going into the forward areas and to the date ground filming has only been allowed on the South Vietnamese side of the border.
