The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani, lunched with British Prime Minister, Mr. Edward Heath, at his official residence of Number Ten Downing Street on Tuesday (18 September).
Also at the lunch was British Foreign Secretary Sir Alec Douglas Heme, who is to have talks with the Emir on Wednesday (19 September).
The Emir was visiting Britain privately and arrived on September 8 after attending the non-aligned summit in Algiers.
His country and Britain, which imports oil from various Gulf states, have a history of friendly relations. It's likely that the two leaders' talks touched upon oil supplies but no details have been given.
