Background: The Kampuchean Ambassador to the United Nations has described the present conflict with Vietnam as a war for the survival of a nation and its people. Ambassador Thiounn Prasith was speaking after the U.N. General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from Kampuchea. The resolution, which observers said contained implied criticism of Vietnam, also called for an immediate halt to the fighting. Mr. Prasith says Kampuchea now wants U.N. forces sent it.
