He also announced that the Greek Merchant Marine overpassed by far the 6.000.000 tons.

    Background: Merchant Marine Minister Mr. George Adrianopoulos hoisted this morning the blue-and-white on the newly built 25.000-ten tanker "World Hope" entirely built in Greece by the Hellenic Shipyards of Scaramanga Bay. The keel of this ship was laid last December and today -- just eight months later -- she is ready to take the sea for her maiden voyage to Persian Gulf. The KX five-million-dollar-worth "World Hope" was built for Stavros Niarchos' Fleet of Tankers.
