    Six people were killed, 100 injured during riots in Sao Paulo, Brasil, when the public transport company increased feres.

    The price of a bus ticket went up 50 per cent., on midnight, October 29. The population, taken by surprise, made immediate protect.

    Bus wreckers went into action, set fire to vehicles, smashed windows. Polioeretelisted with firearms, killed six, injured 100.

    About 70 buses were partly damaged or completely wrecked.

    Students were among the more powerful rioting element. They stopped private drivers asking them to give lifts to the public and set up table tennis games on the street or tracks, halting services.

    Police were tolerant to students - but asked younger ones to keep away.
