    MEN OF THE 26TH REGIMENT, KOREAN TIGER DIVISION, CONTINUE WITH THEIR OPERATION TO RID VIETCONG FORCES FROM A HIGHWAY WHICH LINKS QUI NHON WITH NHA TRANG. CODE-NAMED FIERCE TIGER, THE OPERATION WAS LAUNCHED 20 DAYS AGO SOUTH OF QUI NHON, 280 MILES NORTHEAST OF SAIGON.

    ON SATURDAY (JANUARY 21) THE KOREANS CAME ACROSS A WOODEN HUT WHICH WAS AT FIRST THOUGHT TO BE DESERTED BUT TWO VIETCONG INSIDE OPENED FIRE. THE KOREANS RETURNED THE FIRE AND FLUSHED THE VIETCONG OUT OF THE HUT WITH A HAND-GRENADE. ONE OF THE VIETCONG RECEIVED A WOUND IN HIS LEFT FOOT WHICH WAS DRESSED BY A KOREAN SOLDIER. TWO RIFLES AND A VIETCONG FLAG WERE SEIZED FROM THE HUT.

    SINCE THE LAUNCHING OF THE OPERATION KOREANS CLAIM TO HAVE KILLED 143 VIETCONG, CAPTURED 353, DETAINED 649 SUSPECTS AND SEIZED A LARGE ASSORTMENT OF WEAPONS.
