  • Description

A GROUP OF ANTI-POLARIS DEMONSTRATORS TODAY (SATURDAY) MARCHED THROUGH THE STREETS OF LONDON TO PRESENT A MOCK POLARIS MISSILE, INSCRIBED "DEATH TO A MILLION CHILDREN" TO THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM.

THE PARADE CAME AT THE END OF AN EIGHT WEEKS MARCH FROM GLASGOW IN SCOTLAND - A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 500 MILES - CARRYING THE "MISSILE". AS THE GROUP PASSED THROUGH LONDON THEY WERE JOINED BY SEVERAL HUNDRED SUPPORTERS OF THE NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT MOVEMENT.

WHEN THEY REACHED THE MUSEUM THEY WERE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER, SO THE MISSILE WAS ERECTED IN THE GROUNDS. LATER WHEN THE DEMONSTRATORS HAD LEFT, THE MODEL WAS TORN DOWN AND THROWN ON A CORPORATION RUBBISH DUMP.
