    TWO MEN WERE ARRESTED IN HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA AND CHARGED WITH RUNNING WHAT POLICE CALLED A SLAVE LABOUR CAMP. THE 27 MIGRANT WORKERS WERE KEPT AT THE CAMP UNDER THREE THREATS OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE AND SOME WERE PAID AS LITTLE AS TWO AND A HALF DOLLARS A WEEK. ONE WORKER, AN ELDERLY BLACK WOMAN, SAID, THAT SHE WASN'T ALLOWED TO GO ANY PLACE AND THAT THIS WAS THE WORST PLACE SHE EVER WORKED. A MAN SAID HE WAS LUREDTEEE LURED THERE WITH PROMISES OF GOOD CONDITIONS AND GOOD MONEY BUT AFTER THE FIST WEEK HE FOUND OUT HE COULDN'T MAKE MORE THAT FIVE DOLLARS A WEEK. WHEN HE TRIED TO GET AWAY HE SAID THEY GET BROUGHT HIM BACK. THE TWO MEN ARRESTED WERE JOE BROWN AND LEAFAYETE MATTHEW. WHEN ARRESTED BROWN WAS DRIVING A CADILLAC HE SOUGHT FOR 16,000 DOLLARS EARLIER IN THE DAY. HE HAD MORE THAT 43,000 DOLLARS CASH ON HIM AT THE TIME.
