    The Moslem Community of Accra are observing three days of mourning for the late Lieutenant General Kotoka, who died during an abortive coup by young army officers in April.

    It is one of the number of ceremonies which have been held throughout Ghana to honour the memory of General Kotoka, and to raise money for the Kotoka Trust Fund.

    The Moslem community of Accra has donated more than two thousand New Cedis (GBP1,000 Sterling) to the Kotoka Trust Fund.

    The opening religious ceremonies were conducted by the Moslem spiritual leader of Ghana, Alhaji Immam Abbas.

    Speaking at the ceremony the Chairman of the Trustees of the Fund, Mr. Justice Nii Amaa Ollenu said General Kotoka had died so that freedom might be restored in Ghana.
