He certainly showed his unflappability in all kinds of situations and right from the outset of the tour we've been under a great deal of strain and duress because we've had so many injuries and at times we've had quite a deal of, what shall we say, bad publicity, particularly from the Australian press. He's come through it all, and he's shown no emotion. I think he's done exceptionally well.



    Q. With your injury you had to sit and watch that last deciding and crucial test. What were your feelings on what proved to be the last day?



    A. Well I was pretty disappointed in getting my hand broken, but I tried to be a little bit philosophical about it, by thinking about the boys in the team. So I went around chatting to them. They seemed to be taking the pressure very well. Because it was a very pressure intensive day, they wanted five wickets, and the Australians wanted 100 runs, but they seemed to thin that they would do it, and they did."
