    Background: United States challenger Bobby Fisher kept Boris Spassky of Russia waiting for seven
    minutes at the start of their sixth game in the World Chess Championship in Reykjavik,
    Iceland, on Sunday (23 July).

    Flecher, who had drawn level after a deficit of two games -- one of them
    forfeited for non-appearance -- had the advantage of playing white in the game
    and, according to his aides, approached the game in a buoyant mood.

    A record crowd of twenty-five hundred watched the game which, after making an
    unusual opening move, Fischer went on to win. Fischer, after this latest win,
    leads the best of twenty-four games championship by three-and-a-half points to
    two-and-a-half.

    The twenty-nine-year-old Fischer is now film favourite to and the Soviet Union's
    twenty-four-year monopoly on the World Chess Championship.
