Background: At Uplands Airport in Ottawa the British Prime Minister, Mr Macmillan, is welcomed to Canada by Prime Minister Diefenbaker, as he arrives for two days of talks with Canadian leaders. After inspecting an R.C.A.F. guard of honour; a few words of greeting. The Prime Minister said it was in Ottawa, as an aide at Government House that he met his wife, daughter of the then governor general. The British Prime Minister and his wife will be the guests of the governor-general, Mr Massey, at Government House during their stay in the capital. Mr Macmillan is expected to discuss trade, defence, and international problems with Canadian officials. But before he leaves the airport he stops to acknowledge the greeting of people who had come to see him arrive.
