Background: BACKGROUND: U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams are instructing Egyptian divers in how to recover and/or explode-in-place the bombs, shells and similar explosive devices which have fallen into the canal during the many battles over the years.

Also, U.S. Navy RH-53D helicopters are shown towing sled enroute to canal preparatory to sweeping for underwater mines. They are towing the Mark-105 minesweeping sled. The sled is designed to sweep either acoustic or magnetic mines.
