    Mr Mohsen Al-Ayni, Yemen's Ambassador to France, was yesterday (Tuesday) summoned to try and form a new government. It was reported that he was recalled by the Chairman of Yemen's Republican Council, ???adhi Abdel Rahman Al-Iryani, who last weekend relieved Lieutenant-General Hassan Al-Amri of his posts as Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and member of the Republican Council.

    When Visnews cameraman Jean Poignonec filmed Mr. Ayni in Paris, his response to the summons was still unknown. But he formerly refused a similar invitation last July.

    SYNOPSIS: In Paris, the Yemeni Ambassador, Mr. Mohsen Al-Ayni, was on Tuesday reported to have been summoned to form a new government in the Yemen. When filmed with his family in Paris later the same day, Mr Ayni's response to the summons was still unknown. but he refused a similar invitation only last July. It was reported that he was recalled by the chairman of Yemen's Republican Council, Qadhi Iryani, who last weekend relieved Lieutenant-General Hassan Al-Amri of his posts as Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. General Al-Amri was on Tuesday in-communicado at a Lebanese resort, leaving unanswered allegation that he murdered a photographer in his office last week.

    The General had been Prime Minister four times since the overthrow of the monarchy in 1962. Mr Ayni, the man many Yemenis are looking to in an effort to stabilise the continuing political crisis, has also held office as Prime Minister before.
