    Each year as the river Rima in Norther Nigeria drops to its lowest level at the end of the harvest, the Kabawa people of Argungu wade into the water with their nets to catch the fish. In recent years the Argungu fishing festival has become a social event attracting people from father afield, including tourists to Norther Nigeria.

    The Argungu Fishing has began a Norther Nigerian carnival, with traditional dancing, drumming and sports contests.
