    ONLY II OF THE 36 AFRICAN DELEGATIONS REMAINED IN THE HALL - MALAWI THE ONLY COMMONWEALTH MEMBER. MR. BURUDI NABWERA, OF KENYA, SAID: "WE ARE PROTESTING AGAINST THE INADEQUACY OF THE MEASURES TAKEN BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT SO FAR TO Bring DOWN THE SMITH REGIME".

    IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE HEAD OF A MAJOR POWER HAD BEEN TREATED TO SUCH A SNUB AT THE U.N. BUT MR. WILSON LOOKED UNPERTURBED, AND SPOKE FOR 50 MINUTES ON SUBJECTS RANGING FROM DISARMAMENT TO WORLD TRADE. HE ENDED BY TURNING HIS ATTENTION TO RHODESIA:-
