    THEIR TALKS WERE SAID TO HAVE CENTRED LARGELY ON THE CUBAN NEGOTIATIONS, WHICH WERE ENDED AT THE UNITED NATIONS LAST WEEK.OBSERVERS THOUGHT ONE OF THE QUESTIONS RAISED BY PRESIDENT KENNEDY MAY HAVE BEEN THE CONTINUED PRESENCE OF A LARGE NUMBER OF RUSSIAN TROOPS IN CUBA.

    WHITE HOUSE OFFICIALS SAID THERE WAS ALSO AN EXCHANGE OF VIEWS ON OTHER PROBLEMS BUT NOT TO ANY GREAT LENGTH.AMONG THEM WAS BERLIN, WHICH WAS BROUGHT UP, THEY SAID, BY MR KUZNETSOV.

    MR KUZNETSOV MET MR DEAN RUSK, THE US SECRETARY OF STATE, TODAY AND HAD A RELAXED THREE-HOUR CONVERSATION, RANGING FROM THE ARTS TO DISARMAMENT.THE SOVIET DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER CONFERRED WITH MR RUSK FOR AN HOUR PRIVATELY AND THEN JOINED THE SECRETARY OF STATE AT A LUNCHEON MEETING ATTENDED BY MR ADLAI STEVENSON, CHIEF US DELEGATE AT THE UNITED NATIONS, AND OTHER AMERICAN AND SOVIET OFFICIALS.

    MR.KUZNETSOV IS RETURNING TO MOSCOW SHORTLY AFTER TWO MONTHS OF NEGOTIATIONS ON CUBA AT THE UN.
