    A CARAVELLE JET TOOK OFF FROM ROME AIRPORT WITH 22 PASSENGERS ABOARD ON A REGULAR WEEKLY FLIGHT TO ALGIERS.

    ITALIAN PILOTS ARE SUPPORTING THE BOYCOTT OF ALGIERS AIRPORT CALLED BY THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF AIRLINE PILOTS FOLLOWING THE HI-JACKING BY ALGERIANS OF THE CREW AND SOME PASSENGERS OF AN ISRAELI BOEING 707.

    AS THE BOYCOTT SWUNG INTO FORCE, FEDERATION PRESIDENT CAPTAIN JAN BARTELSKI AND ALGERIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ABDELAZIZ BOUTEFLIKA MET FOR TALKS IN ALGIERS IN AN ATMOSPHERE DESCRIBED AS "EXTREMELY CORDIAL".

    CAPTAIN BARTELSKI TOLD REPORTERS THE FEDERATION WOULD REVIEW ITS POSITION IN ALGIERS GAVE AN APPROXIMATE DATE FOR THE ISRAEL' RELEASE.
