  • Description

THE BU PRANG SPECIAL FORCES CAMP, NEAR THE CAMBODIAN BORDER, IS ONE OF THE TWO CAMPS WHICH CAPTURED NORTH VIETNAMESE PRISONERS HAVE CONFESSED TO HAVING ORDERS TO OVERRUN.

THE BU PRANG AND DUC LAP CAMPS HAVE BEEN UNDER CONTINUAL PRESSURE OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS FROM AN ESTIMATED 5,000 STRONG NORTH VIETNAMESE FORCE DEPLOYED ALONG THE BORDER.

AMERICAN B-52 BOMBERS HAVE BEEN KEEPING UP THEIR PRESSURE OVER THE WEEKEND (NOV 29 & 30) ON NORTH VIETNAMESE TROOP CONCENTRATIONS. A U.S. MILITARY SPOKESMAN SAID THAT THE GIANT AIRCRAFT DROPPED THOUSANDS OF TONS OF BOMBS ONLY THREE TO FIVE MILES (5 - 7 KILOMETRES) EAST AND NORTH OF THE CAMPS IN AN AREA SOME 11 MILES (18 KMS) NORTH-NORTH-EAST OF SAIGON.

THE RAIDS FOLLOWED HEAVY FIGHTING EARLIER IN THE DAY IN WHICH SOUTH VIETNAMESE INFANTRY, SUPPORTED BY TANKS, KILLED 35 NORTH VIETNAMESE TROOPS CLOSE TO THE CAMP.

THIS FILM SHOWS THE CAMP IN A QUIETER LULL EARLIER IN THE WEEK. THE ONLY SOURCE OF SUPPLIES INTO THE CAMP, IS BY HELICOPTER.
