Background: An explosion. believed to have been caused by members of the Irish Republican Army (I.R.A) wrecked an employment in Strabane, Northern Ireland, October 20, during the early hours of the morning.
Lying amongst the debris of the one-storey brick building and an adjoining hut was a safe containing about GBP80. It was thrown from its concrete foundations and defied first efforts to open it.
Nearby houses suffered slight damage, garage doors were blown open, windows broken. Gas started to leak at several points and workmen had to turn off the supply.
Police questioned a number of young men but no immediate arrests were made.
