  • Description

In Tanzania, a five-day seminar on plans to develop manpower in Rhodesia after black majority rule comes in, was recently held in the capital Dar es Salaam. The first such conference before a country actually achieved independence, it was sponsored by the Zimbabwe Patriotic Front guerrilla movement and various international educational agencies, including the United Nations. It dealt with many issues concerning education and employment opportunities for the country's black population. The Vice-President of the Zimbabwe African National union, Mr. Simon Muzenda, represented the Patriotic Front, and was among those who heard Tanzanian Manpower Minister Abel Mwanga speak of his government's hopes for a swift hand-over of power to Zimbabwe's black majority.
