Motorcycle racing is attracting more and more fans in the United States. A three-day event in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend (April 15 - 17) drew crowds estimated to total fifty-thousand.
The event, organised by the American Motorcycle Association, was a championship racing show, featuring world class riders like Doug Sanger of Oklahoma and European champion Gunnar Lindstrom, of Sweden.
Highlight of the meeting was the high speed moto-cross - a race against the clock over a tough one-and-a-half mile (2 1/2 kms, course carved out of the Georgia countryside.
