    ANOTHER 3,000 UNABLE TO GET INTO THE MARTYR'S MEMORIAL FREE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, WATCHED THE OPENING SERVICE IN CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION IN TWO NEARBY MARQUEES. HUNDREDS MORE, UNABLE TO GET INTO EITHER THE CHURCH OR THE MARQUEES, LISTENED TO THE SERVICE AS IT WAS RELAYED OVER LOUDSPEAKERS.

    MR. PAISLEY, 43, WAS GIVEN A ROUSING WELCOME BY THE CROWD WHEN HE ARRIVED IN A UNION JACK DECORATED VINTAGE CAR.

    WITH HIM WAS THE REV. BOB JONES, PRESIDENT OF THE BOB JONES UNIVERSITY, GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, THROUGH WHICH MR. PAISLEY OBTAINED HIS DEGREE. AFTER MR. JONES UNLOCKED THE BRONZE DOORS OF THE CHURCH HE JOINED MR. PAISLEY IN THE PULPIT.
