    THE AIRCRAFT FLYING MR. BUTLER FROM NORTHERN RHODESIA TO NYASALAND HAD TO BE DIVERTED FROM ZOMBA TO BLANTYRE AIRPORT BECAUSE OF WEATHER CONDITIONS. AT THE AIRPORT, MR. BUTLER AND HIS WIFE WERE WELCOMED BY THE GOVERNOR, SIR GLYN JONES, AND LADY JONES, AND BY DR. BANDA.

    IN HIS TALKS WITH MR. BUTLER, DR. BANDA WAS EXPECTED TO PRESS FOR NYASALAND'S EARLY SECESSION FROM THE RHODESIAN FEDERATION. LEADING THE MAJORITY MALAWAI CONGRESS PARTY, HE WILL HEAD THE FIRST CABINET OF A SELF-GOVERNING NYASALAND UNDER THE NEW CONSTITUTION.
