    West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher arrived in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday (July 2) for three days of talks aimed at improving relations between the two countries.

    Herr Genscher's visit is part of a four-nation tour he is making in West Africa. He flew to Accra from the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

    In Accra, he was greeted at the airport by the Ghanaian Foreign Minister Lieutenant-Colonel Kwame Baah. Later he met with Ghana's head to achieve an equitable accommodation between them.

    Herr Genscher says West Germany is interested in solving problems confronting developing and industrialised nations and in helping to achieve on equitable accommodation between them.

    The Ghanaian News Agency reports that Colonel Acheampong urged the international community to seek a just solution to the situation in southern Africa "while there was still time". The agency added that herr Genscher responded that the Economic Community favoured a "dialogue rather than the European Economic Community favoured a "dialogue the E.E.C. the News Agency reports that this is being interpreted by diplomatic observers as a West German defence of its continued trade with South Africa.

    During the visit, Herr Genscher was to sign an agreement by which West Germany would provides Ghana with GBP29 million sterling (59.4 million U.S dollars) in financial and technical assistance.
