DOCTOR WILSON SAID THE UNIVERSITY AUTHORITY HAD DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO INDUCE THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT TO ALLOW MR LUTHULI TO VISIT BRITAIN FOR HIS INSTALLATION AS RECTOR OF THE UNIVERSITY. BUT THE SOUTH AFRICANS HAD MADE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR THAT THEY ARE NOT PREPARED TO ALLOW IT.
