    Arab hard liners have agreed to sever all diplomatic relations with Egypt following the agreements reached between President Sadat and Prime Minister Begin of Israel at the Camp David Summit meeting in the United States.

    SYNOPSIS: The decision camp at a four day meeting in the Syrian capital of Damascus which ended on Sunday (24 September. Represented at the meeting were Syria, Algeria, South Yemen, the Libyan Jamahiriyah and the Palestinian Liberations Organisations. President Assad of Syria was one of those to speak against the Camp David accords. President Boumedienne of Algeria was another. President Assad has said the Camp David Summit has given Israel all it wanted and was completely inconsistent with Arab interests.

    Colonel Gaddafi the leader of the Libyan Jamahiriyah was among the delegates who applauded the Syrian President's stand, together with the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organisation Yasser Arafat.

    Yasser Arafat also addressed the meeting, which adopted eight resolutions. As well as calling for the severance of relations with Egypt others called for economic sanctions. Another called for the removal of the headquarters of the Arab League from Cairo, and if that couldn't be brought about, then the Arab hardliners would assume the functions of the Arab League. Support was sought for Egyptians who opposed President Sadat, and President Assad was asked to tour the Arab world seeking support for the hardline resolutions. An Arab summit conference w as called for, with the exclusion of Egypt. President Assad was also called on to seek more help from the Soviet Union for the hard line front.

    Other resolutions called for the seeking of support from non-aligned countries and a United Nations examinations of the Camp David agreements as they affected the rights of the Palestinian people.
