    ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY AIRCRAFT ARE ON DISPLAY IN THE 1968 TOKYO AEROSPACE SHOW WHICH OPENED TODAY (THURSDAY) AT THE JAPANESE SELF-DEFENCE FORCE AIR BASE, NEAR TOKYO, AND WILL END ON SUNDAY (OCTOBER 13). THIS IS THE SECOND SHOW OF ITS TYPE FOLLOWING THE PREVIOUS EXHIBITION TWO YEARS AGO. JAPAN, WEST GERMANY, THE SOVIET UNION, THE UNITED STATES, BRITAIN AND FRANCE ARE TAKING PART.

    APART FROM THE GROUND DISPLAY, DEMONSTRATION FLIGHTS ARE A FEATURE OF THE SHOW WHICH IS SPONSORED BY THE JAPAN AERONAUTICS ASSOCIATION, AND THE ASAHI PRESS.

    PARTICIPATING AIRCRAFT INCLUDE WEST GERMANY'S VFW TRANSALL TRANSPORT, A MOCK-UP OF THE FRENCH MIRAGE F-I FIGHTER AND THE NORD TRANSPORT. THE FOREIGN AIRCRAFT INCLUDE MANY MOCK-UPS.

    THE AMERICAN RYAN FIREBEE NQM 34-A TARGET DRONE IS AMONG THE U.S. AIRCRAFT ON DISPLAY WITH BRITAIN'S BEAGLE 206 BASSET BUSINESS AIRCRAFT, AND THE SOVIET UNION'S YAKOKLEV YAK-40 JET TRANSPORT.

    ONE MILLION VISITORS ARE EXPECTED AT THE EXHIBITION WHICH WILL INCLUDE THE JAPANESE MADE YS-11 TURBO-PROP TRANSPORT, THE MITSUBISHI MU-2 UTILITY TRANSPORT AND THE FUJI FA-200 LIGHT-PLANE.

    TWO PAVILIONS ARE FEATURED AT THE SHOW. ONE IS JAPANESE AND THE OTHER INTERNATIONAL TO DISPLAY AIRCRAFT AND AEROSPACE EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS' PRODUCTS.
