    SYNOPSIS: A hundred and fifty families have been evacuated and at least one persons has died after flooding of the Rock River in Northern Illinois. Residents were taken by surprise.

    The water level rose unseasonably when warm weather melted snow up-stream, and later fluctuated throughout Saturday. Flooding had started early in the morning had started early in the morning when most residents were asleep. New heavy again, say army engineers. Officials say the only hope in the areas is for colder weather, and even that would only delay the floods till the Spring thaw.
