  • Description

The historic visit of Egypt's President Anwar Sadat to Jerusalem ended on Monday (21 November) with a news conference, a meeting between the President and former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir-who chided him by referring to herself as 'an old lady'-and the President and Premier Begin wishing each other 'Peace'. This report is from the British Broadcasting Corporation's Keith Graves.

It was the end of a remarkable two days where the abundant use of superlatives has been the only way to describe what has happened. But at the end, the two leaders said it all. As they parted, the Prime Minister said 'Shalom' the President replied 'Salaam'..... Peace."
